A 30 YEAR OLD, WELL-LOVED WELSH FOOD BRAND
Blas Ar Fwyd is owned by Deiniol ap Dafydd, who grew up in Llanrwst, Wales. Deiniol returned back to Wales with his wife, Chandra after living in London. The husband and wife team wanted to turn their passion of quality food and drink into a business.
When did you start the business?
We started in 1988 in just a little building, and now, 30 years later we have grown into a family-run business that includes a deli/wine shop, Amser Da café-bar and SALSA (safe and local supplier approved) approved kitchens that is one of the most prominent Food Hubs in Wales.
Why did you start Blas Ar Fwyd?
We moved back to Wales from London and wanted to give businesses, from all over Wales, access to high-quality, artisan Welsh products. We are passionate about quality food and drink, so being able to showcase the best of what Wales has to offer makes all the hard work worthwhile.
We serve the public on the high street of Llanrwst through our Delicatessen and Wine Shop, Amser Da is our Café Bar, and we also offer bespoke catering services, having catered for a number of events from weddings to film sets. We also do wholesale distribution, offering a wide range of quality fine food and drink from Welsh and international producers, alongside our own award winning range of soups, salads, desserts, preserves, dressings and bakery goods.
